"Bell continues to disrespect me and my time and disappoint me. Unclear where to start. They are so frustrating and the overwhelming sense is they really don't care despite how many times they tell you they do over the 109 minutes of being on hold. I'm trying to add a device as my daughter is in college and wants to watch Bell TV not at home. She's told "too many devices." I can't for the life of me figure out how to address this from home. Maybe we have iPads, cell phones or laptops registered but not engaged. I'm on hold for 1 hr and 46 minutes so far... "We appreciate your patience". So disrespectful and feels so Canadian that it's never about the customer here in Canada... Just the oligopoly."

"My family and I has been with Bell for over 20 years and it has never been this bad, We got our modem replaced 5 times because the service was lagging a ridiculous amount of time. The workers are very impolite and do not care about their customers, I would not suggest Bell for any purposes."

"I now have been without a phone for the last 9 days. 3 different technicians have come to my home. The problem is their cable and they know it. They keep sending people who don't know how to do the job since it's the cable that's bad. I get messages from them telling me a new date every other day. All this while though, they were able to cash my payment a month ahead. Cheap disorganized company. I have to call and call again, but it's always a new person who doesn't know what you're talking about, but they understand my frustration!!!"

The Globe and Mail by Iain Marlow
“…users have reported to media that Bell's usage calculator, which allows Internet customers to ensure they don't go over their monthly download limits and trigger charges that can be as high as $2.50 per gigabyte, was registering faulty numbers -- pushing them over the limit when they hadn't downloaded much. … The original notification on Bell's website informed customers the tool had been disabled because of "an issue that may cause internet usage shown on this site to be overstated in some cases." However, by Tuesday night, Bell changed the message slightly, replacing the word "overstated" with "incorrect." …

Hackers Hit Bell Canada - Access Customer Information
Security Week By Mike Lennon
Hackers Hit Bell Canada, Access Customer Information
Bell Canada on Monday said that an unknown hacker managed to access customer information on nearly 2 million customers, including email addresses, customer names and/or telephone numbers.
While Bell Canada dismissed the data stolen by hackers as having minimal risk, having access to customer lists opens the opportunity for targeted phishing attacks to customers who expect communications from the company. Being able to send a targeted phishing message to a customer and personally address them by name will certainly result in a much higher success rate than a typical blind spamming campaign would yield.

Why is internet so expensive in Canada?
Why are internet and cell phone services so expensive in Canada?
Why are Canadians gouged by Bell?
According to CANSUMER.ca (https://cansumer.ca/canada-internet-pricing/) Published Aug 26, 2020, by Alex Wideman, updated Jul 4, 2023:
“The Big 4 Canadian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) (Bell, Rogers, Telus and Quebecor (Videotron)) receive 73.3% of the market’s revenues and charge higher prices due to a lack of competition.”
The monopoly position of the Bell System in the U.S. was ended on January 8, 1982, by a consent decree providing that …
… This divestiture was initiated in 1974 when the United States Department of Justice filed United States v. AT&T, an antitrust lawsuit against AT&T.

But we here in CANADA experienced a different story.
One Of The Most Expensive Internet and Cell Services
Canada has currently one of the most expensive internet and cell phone cervices of the G7 countries in the world.“Ask any Canadian and they’ll likely tell you: yes – we pay more for internet than other countries.”
High Barrier To Enter Canadian Market
The lack of competition is due to a wide variety of factors including the industry’s high barrier to entry, large market share, restricted foreign investment, potential for price coordination and history of privatization and acquisitions.
Canadian Government Studies, Acknowledges, Promises … Again and Again
Year after year, the federal government studies the industry, acknowledges that prices are high and competition is lacking, commits to new approaches and initiatives, directs the CRTC to improve competition and prioritize the consumer ...
Blocking other Internet Providers
Independent ISPs still do not have viable access to incumbents’ fibre internet (FTTH) networks, greatly impairing their ability to compete. ... The actions taken by the government and CRTC over the years to address industry competition, affordability and consumer choice have brought about slow, impermanent or even regressive progress.
Acquisitions And consolidation
After the CRTC ruling in 2021 that set the rates for wholesale internet services at a price some observers called untenable for small providers, saying: “this has to be a wake-up call about telecommunications and affordability”. “We are living through an independent service provider mass extinction ...” said Geoff White, the executive director of the Competitive Network Operators of Canada
Restricted Foreign Investment
In Canada, every major internet, phone and television provider is Canadian. A few foreign companies also offer services to a handful of customers, but they are all ultimately dependent on accessing Canadian firms’ infrastructure. ... Since 1993, the Telecommunications Act has required that a carrier must be incorporated in Canada, 80% of its board of directors must be Canadian, 80% of its voting shares must be owned by Canadians ...

The Bell Complaint System
Dnalor Relloem, Cape Breton Island, NS "says:
"The Bell complaint system is designed to brush customers off and to wear them down, not to solve problems."
Bells 3 Proven Strategies To Deal With Canadian Customers:
Get Rid of Customer Complaints
The Bell complaint system is designed to brush customers off and to wear them down, not to solve problems. Bell would be stupid if they would not be aware of the sheer number of customer complaints and the huge amount of service issues. If not, maybe they could look it up at the Consumer Affairs or Better Business Bureau site. So, Bell knows exactly about its own chaotic structure and its questionable treatment of its customers.
Let Agents in Asia deal with Complainants
Of course, Bell knows about their terrible reputation in the public. It is a nuisance for them to deal with this problem, and it cost money. They don’t want to deal with angry Canadian Costumers, maybe protected by consumer laws. The cheapest solution for Bell is to pay Asian Call Centre Agents to deal with you and to get rid of you.
Avoid any Paper Trail or Evidence
Wearing you down, stealing your time and losing your information to have you to call again and again is part of their strategy. If you can’t understand that Asian call centre accent, even better. That helps to bounce you off and to wear you down until you give up complaining. And just in case you do not want to giver up complaining, Bell threatens to disconnect your service you paid for, and your Tax money was thrown at. The apple never falls far from the tree. run out of patience.
